Hi, my name is Leslie Larsen. I am a licensed clinical social worker and staff therapist at Pennock Center for Counseling. In addition to my role as a staff therapist, I serve as the center’s Program Manager and oversee both internship and group coordination. I I graduated from University of Kansas in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare, with course work focusing on children & families and system change.
Before joining the staff at Pennock Center, I had 15 years of experience working with children, adults and families in various settings. I have worked with developmentally disabled children in an alternative school setting, adjudicated youth in a residential center, elders in their homes, and families as a case manager with the Department of Human Services in Larimer County.
I am passionate about facilitating a therapeutic relationship through which clients feel safe, supported, and accepted. My therapeutic approach is client-centered. I utilize primarily CBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, experiential, mindfulness, and psychoeducational approaches to support clients in moving forward.
